The programmatic offerings at ASPIRE are designed to develop geoscientist leaders committed to meaningful reciprocity with communities. Our learning ecosystem brings together early-career scientists, institutional geoscience leaders, and community members through a progressive sequence of learning and engagement opportunities that build toward this goal.
Our programmatic offerings contribute to building and sustaining this approach to geoscience research by creating both virtual and in-person spaces for learning and supporting both practitioners and communities.
This 6-part series is designed for geoscientists and anyone else who wants who wants to explore the theories, principles, and practices that provide the foundations for engaged research with community partners. Take the discussion further by participating in supported Learning Circles.
The Immersive Institute is a dedicated space for postdocs to assistant professors in the geosciences who are on a mission to take their community-engaged research practice to a deeper level. We invite participants to invest their time in a week-long facilitated community research and learning experience.
The ASPIRE Working Groups seek to support deep partnerships between communities and geoscientists, creating opportunities to understand both aspects of how individuals (community members, geoscientists) contribute to these partnerships and how the collective is sustained.
Members will build and deepen relationships in an intentional and supportive space as they implement community-engaged geoscience. This offering is invitational, however we welcome your inquiry about ASPIRE Community of Practice.
The Innovation Incubator is an ASPIRE program for academic institutional leaders who interact directly with geoscience faculty, and who are committed to actively promoting community-engaged science and those doing it. We call these leaders changemakers.
